A wonderful reward of being a commercial writer since 1990 is that more and more often I find myself working on projects for clients I truly want to champion. I love the demands copywriting puts on my frontal lobes. Every time I take on a project in a field I've never worked in, every time I have to put on the shoes of a different target audience, I'm asked to expand my mind. And because I put my soul into my writing, my work is spiritually rewarding as well.

With an M.A. from San Francisco State, early in my career I taught creative writing at several Bay Area colleges. I've also published five books of poetry and have received numerous writing awards, including an NEA. I continue to write and publish my poetry—my work is included in a new Norton Anthology called American Hybrid. I also have a novel in the works, Love (K)not.
